About Your Local Farmers
EC Williams Livestock, a beef cattle farm located east of Carstairs, provides Central Alberta with grass-fed, grass-finished beef raised without the use of hormones on chemical-free pastures.
The Williams herd is made up of Angus cows with a mix of Gallaway and Speckle Park. They are fed using rotational grazing methods on pastureland in the summer; and on baled hay in the winter. By using these regenerative agriculture practices EC Williams Livestock aims to increase biodiversity, improve soil health, and trap carbon in the soil - reversing the accumulation of carbon in the atmosphere.
EC Williams Livestock Ltd. is owned by Eric and Courtney Williams. Eric was born and raised here and has farmed alongside his dad since childhood. Courtney was also born and raised on a farm. Together they have been pursuing their passion for farming, cattle, and great-tasting beef since they were married in 2011. Eric and Courtney bought the farm and started their family in 2014. The Williams pray that their love of farming is passed on to their four children, nicknamed Brey, Bug, Bear, and Boy.
